島嶼研究網絡（香港）喜獲The Delta on the Move (DotM) Foundation撥款，將於二〇二四年八月至二〇二五年四月間進行一項為期8個月的研究及分享的社區歷史及文化計劃——「香港沿岸社區研究──青衣街渡與擔杆山路船廠區」。
自1960年代青衣發展以來，北岸位於擔杆山路的船廠區一直是青衣島上的重要工業之一。是次研究將以船廠區及青衣街渡為研究對象，發挖出青衣-荃灣之間的關係網絡。亦會爬梳歷史檔案、老照片，與造船業相關人仕進行口述歷史訪問，使我們對青衣沿海社區有更完整的理解。
The Island Studies Network Hong Kong (ISNHK) is pleased to announce that it has received funding from The Delta on the Move (DotM) Foundation for an 8-month community history and culture project titled “A study of a coastal community in Hong Kong – Tsing Yi Kaito Ferry and Tam Kon Shan Shipyard Cluster”, which will take place from August 2024 to April 2025.
Since the development of Tsing Yi, the shipyard area located on Tam Kan Shan Road has been one of the important industries on Tsing Yi Island. This research will primarily focus on the shipyard area and the Tsing Yi Kaito, exploring the network of relationships between Tsing Yi and Tsuen Wan. ISNHK will delve into public record archives and old photos and conduct oral history interviews with shipyard workers and owners to gain insights into the Tsing Yi coastal community.
